Kid’s Bedding & What’s Popular in Kid’s Bedding SetsBy Sherrie Le Masurier
Besides a paint color, there's no easier way to bring color and pattern to your kid’s bedroom than to outfit her bed with a colorful kid’s bedding set.
Most kid’s bedding sets include everything you need to make your child's bed soft and warm - a comforter, one fitted sheet, one flat sheet, and a pillowcase. A bed-in-a-bag kid’s bedding set is a better way to decorate your kid’s room on a budget as it often comes with pillow sham(s) and a bed skirt.
When shopping for kid’s bedding sets or just a couple of kid’s bedding pieces like a flat or fitted sheet or an extra pillowcase, you want to make sure you’re buying quality machine washable sheet sets and comforters.
While most kid’s bedding sets can be washed at home, you’ll want to check that any bedding accessories (like throw pillows and window valances), made by the same manufacturer and in the same color and pattern, are machine washable as well. Unfortunately you may find such kid’s bedding accessories can’t be thrown into the washing machine or dryer, keeping them looking newer for longer while your child’s coordinating bedding continues to fade with multiple washes.
That said, most quality kids bedding sets will continue to look bright and new if they are washed in cold water, with a gentle detergent, on delicate, and tumble dried on low heat.
